Hitachi received the order of steam turbine generator set for large coal-fired power plant in the U.S.

Hitachi, Ltd. Power Systems (following, Hitachi), Hitachi America, Ltd. and Hitachi Power Systems America, Ltd. have received an order of the steam turbine generator set for the Rodemacher generating stations of No. 3, Central Louisiana Electric Company of the U.S. The order was received from Stone & Webster Inc. of the Shaw group which is an American major plant engineering company.

Hitachi takes charge of manufacture, transporatation and construction management of one 660 MW steam turbine and generator set, and the total order is about 420 million US$. The shipment of equipment is started after the summer of 2007, and the operation will be started in the middle of 2009.

Hitachi has been getting the below orders of coal-fired plant by EPC or Turn-key basis.

• EPCOR Genesee No.3 (495 MW supercritical, Canada Alberta state)
• MidAmerican Energy, Council Bluffs No.4 (790 MW supercritical, U.S. Iowa state)
• Wisconsin Energy, Elm Road No.1 and 2 (677 MW supercritical, U.S. Wisconsin state)

According to the orders, Hitachi proceeds positive business development in North American electricity market.
