Hitachi

The joint venture of Hitachi and Sumitomo Corporation received an order of steam turbine power generation system for the combined cycle power plant constructed in the basin of the Nile River from Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company.

The power plant is a combined cycle fueled by natural gas and its total power output is 750MW.

The joint venture of Hitachi and Sumitomo Corporation also concluded the delivery contract of 250MW class steam turbine in May 2002 with Cairo Electric Power Company. Therefore, this is a contract after the lapse of three years.

The total received order is about 5 billion yen and the facility is scheduled to be completed and delivered in June 2008.
