Thermal and Hydro Power Systems

Hitachi

Hitachi has received an order for three gas turbine power generation facilities from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. The total value of the order is about 3 billion yen.

Plans for large oil and gas development projects have been developed globally and various facilities have been ordered as part of an EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contract. Now leading Korean and European EPC companies have been receiving orders. In these kinds of large projects, many gas turbine power generation facilities will be required to supply power and thus these projects represent a large and lucrative market for the gas turbine power generation industry.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., one of Korean leading EPC companies, has received an order for the Bonny terminal integrated project which is being developed on Bonny Island, Nigeria, by Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited. In this project, Hitachi will deliver H-25 gas turbine power generation facilities to supply power to its crude oil shipping equipment.

Hitachi will take advantage of this latest order and step up its activities to acquire orders from various EPC companies contracting for oil and gas development projects.
