Hitachi, Ltd. has received orders for four H-25 gas turbine power generation systems and four compressors from Sakhalin Energy Investment Co., Ltd., which is a joint company of Shell Sakhalin Holdings B.V. (a subsidiary of Royal Dutch/Shell Group), Mitsui Sakhalin Holdings B.V. (a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd.), and Diamond Gas Sakhalin B.V. (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation). The total value of the order is about 6 billion yen.
Sakhalin Energy Investment Co., Ltd. is conducting a natural gas development project "Sakhalin 2" in Sakhalin. The power generation systems that Hitachi is providing will be used for power supply to the inland crude oil and natural gas refinary plant, which are new construction projects in Sakhalin, and the compressors will be used for gas pressurization in the plant.
Building on the impetus created by this new order, Hitachi will actively pursue further orders from oil and gas refining companies.
